Sourwood Cafe in Marble Hill

Always happy to see a menu that’s not over-long. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.(PS. Good decor too; they’ve steered clear of the clichéd rustic mountain lodge look.)

The Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich and fries were amazing. The best food in have had in a while.

Honey Dip Saloon is a great spot for lunch! Pulled pork sandwich was great paired with the Cajun slaw and peach BBQ sauce. Stache burger is two patties but awesome taste with the homemade potato bun. Need to do breakfast or brunch!

Wow what a great place to dine. The atmosphere and friendly professional service is over the top!!I just had to have the chicken everyone talks about...without a doubt the best chicken I have "ever" eaten...so juicy and tender, you could eat it without teeth lol. My wife had the short ribs , same experience. WE WILL BE BACK....weekly

Excellent food. Our first time. Need work on attention to detail. Missing flatware not replaced, bottle of wine removed before it was empty. Also disappointed that management made rounds to those he knew but did not come by to introduce himself.

Very nice place. Food was beautifully presented. Good service. We went on a Tuesday night while staying in Big Canoe, and it was not busy.

The food here is good but at time can be a miss. It's a nice place but does not measure up to its potential. Service is slow and staff needs better training.

Very nice, modern atmosphere. I had a couple of meals here, a dinner one evening and a sandwich at lunch. Both were very good and the staff was friendly and fun. I like to take my time at dinner and was not rushed at all.

The food was outstanding. I highly recommend the short rib or the bolognese pasta. The service was very professional and the restaurant had a very relaxing atmosphere.

Great food! My husband had short ribs, and I had pork. Both were superb. The service is always perfect, polite, helpful and prompt! An excellent place for a nice evening out! We go there frequently!

We finally went to try it out last night. We had heard and read many comments both pro and con but needed to check it out ourselves. This by far was the best dining experience that we have had close to Big Canoe!! We shared 3 appetizers....the pate', crawfish fritters and delicious rolls with soft butter. All were amazing and had depth of flavor as well as being hot temperature (not the pate') and the portion sizes were perfect for sharing. We had beef short ribs that were tender and delicious and the trout stuffed with crabmeat and the trinity....yum! The cocktails were delicious and the wine list was quite extensive. Our server was excellent and read well the pacing we desired for our dinner. We definitely thought the price was quite reasonable for the wonderful meal that we had! We will be back soon and often!!!

Lunch at Honey Dip, dinner at Sourwood. Great experience and fun, phenomenal food. If you live or are visiting Big Canoe, these restaurants are a must.

My favorite place to eat when I am in the Jasper Big Canoe area. Great service wonderful atmosphere and delectible food. I highly recommend eating their catch of the days. It has never gone wrong.

The chef is tremendous, Luis, one of the servers, is also fantastic. The short fall is the number of items on the menu. Need an Italian dish, another good steak selection, and one more fish. The Sapelo clams appetizer - the best I've ever had.

Lovely lunch at Honey Dip Saloon today. Warm fire, beautiful sunshine, and delicious food! We loved the fish tacos, beet and blue cheese salad, stache burger and fries.

Stopped by for lunch. Right near North entrance to Big Canoe. Food was delicious. Small, comfortable, casual. But then everything around Big Canoe is that way.

My wife and I dine there 1-2 times a week. Not only is the Chef (Rick) amazing, but he is very personable as well. The staff is as good as you will find anywhere! They go out of their way to make sure your experience is exceptional. To me they deserve 6 Stars!

The food was very fresh and delicious. I'd give this a 5 star rating if the seating for lunch time was more comfortable. They have outdoor seating and on a nice day like today, it felt good to enjoy the fresh air and the service was quick.

We stopped by for a late lunch, Sourwood wasn't open but shares the kitchen with Honey Dip Saloon, which was. Our party of four each had one of their unique sandwiches and really enjoyed them. Our waitress Erica was cute and competent. We'll be back!

Great food and execellent presentation. Our waiter did a super job and Chef came to each table at least once to check on things. Relaxed atmosphere and beautiful vaulted ceilings. Definitely recommend you try it.

While I was excited to find a restaurant on our vacation that had great ambiance and an interesting menu, I was not impressed with the attitude of the chef (Owner?). He was short with us when we arrived and I said hello. He then proceeded to yell at me when I followed the waitress to the other side to close out our check and walked over to the dog to say hello. Yes, he has a dog chained up in the restaurant. A dog he claims to be a rescue, chained up, in a restaurant where he is exposed to the curiosity of strangers. What a stressful situation for this dog! And I would assume the health department would consider having a dog in a restaurant to be a health hazard as well. I will be back to the area, but will not patron this establishment. Food wise, my husband’s pulled pork sandwich was rather small and my brat had more slaw than brat. The French fries reminded me of the small ones you get in a frozen bag at the grocery store. Creative, but nothing amazing.

Sourwood is not open for lunch but Honey Dip Saloon is right next to it ( run by same chef ) and does open for lunch. I had their hamburger on a homemade potato bun with fries and a can of Miller beer. If you like the skinny fries done just right, you will enjoy theses. So if you out for a ride or want to meet your friends on a Monday when Big Canoe's clubhouse is closed. Stop by Honey Dip Saloon at the North Gate Station for lunch. You won't be disappointed.

This place is always great. Menu seems to have been slightly updated since I was last here, which was great to see.

Nice little reaturant. I loved the look of it. Food is amazing. Staff is very friendly and nice to talk with.

Fresh and delicious. I had the cabbage salad. It was light and crunchy with the perfect amount of dressing. Others in my party had the burgers and pulled pork tacos. Everyone left happy. This is the perfect stop after hiking in Amicalola Falls. Don’t miss it!

Honey Dip Saloon was a nice place to enjoy lunch. The pulled pork tacos were delicious and the portion sizes were perfect for a lunch type of meal. I will be back again when I'm in the area.

I gave this place 5 stars two years ago but now I have to change my rating. Not sure what is going at that place but yesterday my daughters and I visited and we still cannot get the smell of something awful off us. Everything we wore had to be washed and I just pitched one of my favorite baseball hats away. Anything we sat on has had to be cleaned. Each of us say it smells like something different but to me it resembles over-rip red onions. We sat nearest to the door too. Not going back.

Sourwood provides a welcoming fine dining experience in the North Georgia Mountains! Delicious attention to detail in every single dish! An extensive and creative wine and spirits menu. We often happily order lots of stunning aps and wine and settle in for a relaxing evening!

Would have given it 5 stars, but service was slow, good but slow, and some good came out a little cold as a result. The bad several really large groups. This was very good.
